Hamar Township Police Warns Residents of Black Bear Sightings – CBS Pittsburgh

HAMAR TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – Harmar municipality police say they have sighted a black bear three times in the past few days.

According to police, the bear was seen in the Harmar Heights section, particularly on Harmar Drive.
“We ask residents to be vigilant during outdoor activities and to keep an eye on their pets,” the department said in a Facebook post.

Police said they spoke to the gaming committee and were informed that black bears are usually not aggressive unless they feel threatened.
They urge the residents not to approach the bear and to give it enough space.

“So that means please don’t try to take a selfie with the bear to create a TikTok video,” the department said.
