“We know it’s one of the most crowded events in Pittsburgh historically,” said Richard Hooper of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership.

The PDP hopes voter turnout will be no different this year. The pandemic canceled the event last year so organizers want to make sure people are safe this year.

“All of the vendors will be on Andy Warhol Bridge this year and all of the food and drink vendors will be on Fort Duquesne Boulevard to clear up a little more space as the bridge has been a bit crowded in the past,” said Hooper.

But with these changes there are some major road closures. The Andy Warhol Bridge and part of Fort Duquesne Boulevard between Ninth Street and Stanwix Street will be closed to Picklesburgh.

Then there are even more closings on the North Shore from even more celebrations.

“There is the Hella Mega Tour and the Pittsburgh Preseason Game on Saturday at Heinz Field.

As for the concert at PNC Park, traffic changes and parking will be similar to Pirates games, and the North Shore exit of Route 65 will be closed. If you’re trying to get to the parkway from the North Shore, the catchphrase for detours is the Rachel Carson Bridge.
