Michael Chavis from Pirates: Despatched to Pittsburgh
Chavis was traded from the Red Sox to the Pirates on Friday, reports Keith Law of The Athletic.
Chavis was once a pretty highly rated candidate, but he failed to reach his potential in his first 168 MLB games. He has cut 33.6 percent of his record appearances while hitting only 0.234 / 0.291 / 0.413. Moving to one of the league’s most pitcher-friendly parks in Pittsburgh certainly isn’t helping him, though he’s at least now with a rebuilding organization that might give him the opportunity to tackle his struggles in a regular role.
