Mikayla Duffalo receives the Richard S. Caliguiri Award | way of life

PITTSBURGH – Mikayla Duffalo of Brockway was awarded the Richard S. Caliguiri Prize of the Pittsburgh Technical College (PTC) by the PTC School of Criminal Justice, which is given to the best students in a senior year.

Duffalo, a 2019 graduate of Brockway Area Jr. Sr. High School, holds an Associate of Science degree in criminal justice and was awarded the Caliguiri Prize at PTC’s virtual opening ceremony on April 13, 2021. The ceremony was broadcast on PTC’s YouTube channel and is available for replay.

“This award is available to the PTC Faculty to honor graduates who have demonstrated academic, perseverance, professionalism, and leadership skills during their education at PTC,” said Christine Ioli, PTC Alumni Coordinator. “The award winners can be very proud of the fact that they are considered role models for exemplary students.”

The Richard S. Caliguiri Award was established in 1981 to recognize academic achievement as well as personal achievement and perseverance. It is named in honor of PTC graduate Richard Caliguiri, former mayor of Pittsburgh. To date, there are 927 award winners in the PTC Alumni Association.
