The Community Guidance Center is proud to announce Dr. Reece Rahman as the new Chief Clinical Officer.
Dr. Rahman was born in Alabama and raised in Michigan. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Michigan, his PhD from Kent State University, and his clinical internship at Ann Arbor VA Medical Center. He then completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship / Residency from the National Institute of Health at the University of Michigan for Health Systems / Ann Arbor Hospital, MI; Specialized in physical medicine and rehabilitation with an emphasis on spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries.
Dr. Rahman was a faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh (Johnstown) from 2004 to 2012, where he taught: Introduction to Psychology, Psychopathology, Testing and Measurement, Child Development, and Advanced Senior Seminars in Dream Interpretation and Couples Therapy. Although he remained active in clinical practice during those years, he finally left his position as associate professor in 2012 to pursue full-time clinical positions.
Dr. Rahman has a deep understanding and extensive experience of: psychological, neuropsychological, intellectual, personality, learning disability, professional, forensic and decision-making assessments. He is also well trained and familiar with providing psychotherapeutic services to a diverse patient population (age, gender, race, ethnicity, cultural background, etc.) in similarly diverse clinical situations (from inpatient to outpatient hospital settings; community mentality) Health in Private Practice , Elementary school in the university, qualified nursing in assisted living).
Dr. Rahman and his wife Joelle, originally from Somerset, PA, were married in 2014. He and his wife have two children, a 5 year old daughter (Arya) and a 3 year old son (Rumi). He and his family are blessed to have a third child, who is expecting a boy in February 2021.
