PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Pennsylvania Republicans voted Monday to blame, not blame, Senator Pat Toomey.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, 128 votes to 124 were in favor of not blaming Senator Toomey with 13 abstentions.
The Pennsylvania Republican State Committee discussed the Senator’s censorship of his vote on February 24 to convict former President Donald Trump of inciting the Capitol Rebellion.
Following his vote on the condemnation, Toomey said in part of the former president: “His betrayal of the Constitution and his oath of office required a conviction.” Trump was acquitted of instigating the uprising during the impeachment trial in the Senate.
