PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – TJ Watt is about to face a massive payday.

According to Gerry Dulac of our news partner at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Watt is expected to sign a contract extension “shortly” after the last preseason game against the Carolina Panthers on Friday. Dulac reports that the contract will make Watt the highest paid defensive player in the league.

Now that preseason is almost over, expect TJ Watt to sign a contract extension shortly after the Carolina game that will make him the highest-paid defensive player in the league.

Watt hasn’t practiced this off-season as he hasn’t signed a long-term contract yet. He has done individual work on the practice field, but has not yet practiced with the rest of the team.
