Pittsburgh Steelers re-sign ILB Vince Williams
The Pittsburgh Steelers are signing again with linebacker Vince Williams, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Williams was released from the team weeks ago to save $ 4 million in salary caps. According to Fowler, Williams had other offers from teams who tended to return to Pittsburgh.
Williams came to Pittsburgh as a six-round hit in 2013 and has started 69 games since then. He added 70 tackles, 14 tackles to loss and three sacks to his career in 2020, and served as the team’s lead center-back after Devin Bush’s season ended with an ACL injury.
The Steelers re-signed Robert Spillane for a year before releasing Williams. Marcus Allen also returned to the team on a one-year contract.
The team has not yet announced the move. Financial details were not reported.
