Honeywell Healthy Buildings’ dashboard provides operational and passenger benefits to an airport. For example, if increased occupancy results in higher carbon dioxide levels, the airport can respond immediately to improve social distancing or increase airflow to the HVAC system in a particular zone. In addition, the airport plans to use Honeywell Forge to perform condition-based maintenance focused on MERV 13 filters in its ventilation equipment. By monitoring particulate matter and volatile organic compounds using Honeywell’s dashboard, airport staff can identify filters that need to be changed as needed, versus a maintenance schedule, to avoid costly, unnecessary filter changes. Honeywell Forge proactively analyzes building controls and mechanical systems and provides almost intuitive insights via intuitive dashboards that can be used to reduce unplanned reactive work on building systems.

Based on a recent Honeywell survey, 61% of airport workers surveyed were particularly concerned about possible airborne COVID-19 transmission, and 40% of airport workers surveyed identified outdated ventilation systems as a greater security threat than those who did not adhere to safety Guidelines. 1
