Port Authority Confirmed Demise of two Coronavirus Workers – CBS Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Two operators of the port authority have died of coronavirus.
The port authority announced on Monday that it was mourning the death of two employees.
“Today our hearts are broken. We mourn two members of the Port Authority family, “Port Authority CEO Katharine Kelleman said in a statement.
“On behalf of the Port Authority Board and the agency as a whole, we express our deepest condolences to their families and loved ones. Their dedication to serving customers has been a symbol for all of the front line staff. “
The port authority did not identify the two employees, but said they were both operators. The operator who worked in the East Liberty garage was last deployed on November 25th and the operator who worked in the Collier bus garage was last deployed on November 24th.
The Amalgamated Transit Union Local 85 reported the death of two members on Facebook on Sunday and Monday.
According to the union, Marlon J. Lucas operated East Liberty / Harmar for more than two decades. He leaves behind his 33-year-old wife and two children.
The union says Patrick Hazlett operated the Collier Division for 8 years. He leaves behind his wife and four children. “Our deepest sorrow and condolences go to his family,” wrote the union.
