The back of the system appears to be the first of three medium-level low pressure areas that can easily fall 2 inches or more of snow in a matter of hours before heading east.
Perhaps the slowest of these systems is the Friday system, where snow is now forecast on Friday through the day and a blizzard occurs on Saturday when cold air rolls in again.
The second loop of snow arrives late Saturday evening and remains possible at sunrise with an additional 2 inches of snow.
The third quick blow comes with the arrival of the coldest air on Tuesday morning.
Well, for some good news for most people, the upcoming brutally cold weather next week has been canceled for the time being.
Monday is again next week’s coldest day and the lows will be cold with most places likely to be in the single digits.
The cold doesn’t hold up with Tuesday lows around 28 degrees, however. There’s still a chance the cold will affect the area late next week, but until then there are some BIG changes to the expanded forecast.
