SWISSVALE (AP) – Authorities in western Pennsylvania are looking for a suspect after a shotgun explosion hit the ceiling of a house near Pittsburgh and wounded a 17-year-old girl in the residence above.
The officers were called to the Swissvale residence shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and found the victim with a non-life-threatening injury to the arm, Allegheny County police said. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police said the gun was fired during an alleged domestic argument and the suspect in the residence below escaped before police arrived.
Shawn Bennett, 34, of Pittsburgh, is wanted for discharging a firearm into an occupied building, endangering children, simple assault and reckless endangerment. The police were looking for an older sport utility vehicle for him to drive.
Bennett’s attorney is not listed on court documents and a message could not be left on a possible phone list for him.
