The health ministry says mask requirements will be lifted on June 28, or earlier if 70% of adults are fully vaccinated by then. All Pennsylvanians 16 years of age or older are eligible to be vaccinated, and eligibility for the Pfizer vaccine was extended to children ages 12-15 on May 10.

Pennsylvania adopts the CDC’s newly relaxed guidelines on the wearing of masks, which means that fully vaccinated people will not need to wear masks in most locations. The state says a total of 10,885,227 vaccine doses have been given and 4,891,522 people are fully vaccinated. To date, 55.7% of Pennsylvanians ages 18 and older are fully vaccinated, and 72.1% of the total Pennsylvanian population have received a first dose.

The state also reports that 28,821 healthcare workers were diagnosed with COVID-19 during the pandemic. MORE NEWS: PA. Of all deaths, 13,313 were in care or personal care facilities.
