Syracuse girls get well with a win over Pittsburgh

SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) –

On Thursday evening, the women’s basketball team from Syracuse ended their defeat in two games and beat Pittsburgh 80-57. It is Syracuse’s 19th straight win over Pitt.

Orange took an 11-0 lead and never looked back. Syracuse would build a 41-26 lead after two quarters. SU would end the game with a run of 27-6 and seal the victory for the Orange.

SU Redshirt Junior Maeva Djaldi-Tabdi came off the bench and scored a season high of 17 points with three triples.

As a team, Syracuse had five players in the double digits. Emily Engstler scored her fifth double-double of the season with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Kiara Lewis scored 12 points and 7 assists. The newcomers Priscilla Williams and Kamilla Cardoso each added 11 points each.

Syracuse improves to 8-3 overall (5-3 in ACC).

Next, Notre Dame comes to town for the Orange on Sunday. There will be a tip at 11am in the Carrier Dome. You can see the game on the ACC network.
