PITTSBURGH – The Center of Life is celebrating its 20th anniversary for the Hazelwood and Pittsburgh communities.
With music, dance and loudspeakers, the virtual celebration on Friday will honor the 20th anniversary of the center.
Pastor Tim Smith founded the Center of Life in 2001 to promote finance, education, and the arts.
Some programs use art and music to inspire education.
“We’re trying to connect natural talent with education so that natural talent becomes a skill, so that they can do what they need, to do it the way they need to,” said Smith.
Since the pandemic, the center has faced new challenges, including distributing more than 200,000 meals and nearly 600 school supply packages to neighbors.
