These 2 eye merchandise made my baggage and darkish circles nearly disappear

This is Obsessed: my weekly column where I share all the things I love right now – from unique food and gift ideas to travel destinations and beauty products – plus some tips and tricks for your best life.

I recently turned 30 and I’m not sure if it’s a new decade or the stress of a pandemic (or maybe a bit of both) but I feel like my skin has aged literally overnight. While I’m lucky enough to be blessed with relatively good skin genes (thanks, mom and dad), the dark circles and bags under my eyes are pretty brutal. I love skin care and my bathroom closet is full of lotions and potions, but I thought I was too young to use eye cream. Turns out that’s not the case at all (and now I’m using two!).

Suzan Obagi, assistant professor of dermatology at the University of Pittsburgh and director of the Cosmetic Surgery and Skin Health Center, told Scientific American, “After the age of 20, a person produces about 1 percent less collagen in their skin each year.” Translation? Every year you lose a little of the magical protein that makes your skin firmer, plumper and less wrinkled. While I’ve been diligent with my facial care routine, I’ve seriously neglected my eye area (and apparently lost collagen there for about a decade without even realizing it).

To fix that asap, I checked out Sios Cryo Eye Cream. According to the website’s description, it uses cooling therapy (“cryotherapy”), hydrolyzed collagen, and marine plankton extract to increase hydration and reduce inflammation, puffiness, fine lines, and wrinkles around the eye area. Although I was a little skeptical, I thought it was worth a try, so I started dab a pea-sized drop under each eye after washing my face every morning.

When I tried it for the first time, I didn’t notice an immediate difference. But after about a week of regular use, I noticed my bags under the eyes were getting a little smaller. And after about two weeks they were almost completely gone! After getting the hang of this with this eye cream, I wanted to improve my game under the eyes even more, so I decided to add a retinol eye cream at night.

Retinol is a form of vitamin A that, according to Harvard Health, “can reduce fine lines and wrinkles by increasing collagen production”. “It also stimulates the production of new blood vessels in the skin, which improves skin color.” (Pro Tip: It also makes your skin more sensitive to the sun, so you should apply retinol at night and apply it on the SPF in the morning.) I wanted to find an affordable retinol eye cream to add to my nightly routine and saw that Roc Retinol Eye Cream had amazing reviews from thousands of users on Amazon and Target. Plus, it only costs $ 18 – an absolute bargain when compared to other eye creams.

After a few weeks of using both creams together (Sio in the morning and Roc in the evening), I can confirm that everyone – no matter how old – should use an eye cream. My bags under the eyes are almost non-existent, the area around my eyes looks lighter and my skin even looks a little plumper. I haven’t changed anything else in my routine and I’ve noticed a total difference. Would you like to get hold of them yourself? You can buy the Sio eye cream here and the Roc Retinol eye cream here.
