Tools on the widespread Pittsburgh restaurant has been stolen and cameras close by caught the theft on digital camera – WPXI

PITTSBURGH – A surveillance system is credited for recording a theft that has had a significant impact on a local Pittsburgh business.

The owner of “Wings and a Prayer” tells Channel 11 that he came to work this weekend and noticed that his smoker had been stolen.

“This is my bread and butter and he took some of it away,” said Keith Yarbough, restaurant owner.

Yarbough guided Channel 11 through its typical Monday routine.

“I do ribs every Monday. I go out and cook the ribs. I can’t do that today because I don’t smoke, ”said Yarbough.

Yarbough’s smoker was stolen over the weekend just before he and his wife were about to host an event.

“We don’t bother anyone here and everyone likes our food. So we didn’t have any problems being here. So I don’t feel respected, ”said Yarbough.

Yarbough decided to reach out to his neighbors to see if they saw anyone near his property.

Eventually his neighbor Rick Cancelliere caught up with Yarbough and provided surveillance video of the theft.

“I saw a white van come up and some guy jumped out, grabbed the smoker, dragged him in and started and it was less than a minute,” said Cancelliere.

After seeing the video, Yarbough is even more angry, especially after such a difficult year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Many restaurants are affected by this pandemic. I’m blessed right now to be open minded, but that’s part of my business, ”said Yarbough.

Yarbough’s smoker was specially made for his business. If the thief does not return the equipment or if the smoker is not recovered by the police, he will have to buy a new smoker.

“I only want this back if he could give it back to me, but if not, what was his reason for taking it? I just need to know why why you did it “

Due to the cost of the smoker, Yarbough’s neighbors started a GoFundMe to raise funds for a new model. You can find out more about the fundraising campaign here.
