Aug 4th, Jordan Montgomery riding in a black record drop $ TILL NOT 4 $ ALE, nine tracks he’s been working on since COVID started, he says. One of the tracks, “HEAT WAVE,” will no doubt bring heat and demonstrate Montgomery’s talent. As he says at the end of the song, “sometimes you have to talk about that shit,” he raps about travel and his own name.
The track is heavy in Braggadosio and Montgomery booked it for listeners with open sound clips. “HEAT WAVE” is part of a freestyle mix of puns and screaming to other Pittsburgh artists like Live from the City.
“Passport stamp”
We stumble with acid
I flow the route like Cassius
Every time I drop this huge thing
Affected by the crowd
I speak the gospel
Like a mass preacher. “
The beat is reminiscent of the hip-hop of the past, reduced and uplifting, but there is still a repetition that makes the listener come back.
Montgomery says the suppleness of the beat allows it to get out of shape and freestyle for a short period of time, resulting in a fun listening experience. The mixtape can certainly stand on its own, but Montgomery sees it as an extension of his previous full-length project. Thank you 4Ur I bought but no $ ale ..
“I still have a lot of special offers. Thank you for purchasing 4Ur. But I thought it was cool to show the fans what I was working on over the last year, ”he says. “These songs aren’t mixed or mastered properly. I wanted to relive the era when artists put out mix tapes and demos, ”he said.
He plans to master the tracks to use the DSP, but adds that mixtapes are now available for Audiomack and Bandcamp.
