Heat up on the way in which – CBS Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Good morning, it should be a sunny day for most of the day, with clouds north of I-80.
Yesterday’s high temperature reached 39 degrees and we saw a mixture of sun and clouds.
Given the sunnier skies today and the warmer core temperatures than yesterday, I’m forecasting highs in the 40s today.
When we hit 40 degrees it will be the first time since January 3rd.
Temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday are also likely to hit 40 degrees.
Setup today is similar to yesterday, with a strong upper low now moving from Hudson Bay to Quebec.
Unlike yesterday, it doesn’t look like we’re seeing the gravitational waves that we made yesterday that gave us sunshine all day.
Notably, yesterday was the sixth consecutive day of dry conditions at Pittsburgh International Airport.
Some places reported short and light snow in the morning.
It looks like the next attempt to see precipitation will come on Friday.
It might be a while before we see significant rainfall in the area.
Looking at a week, long-haul data suggests the next chance a week of decent rain or snow will occur starting that Friday.
