PPG acknowledged by Newsweek as certainly one of America’s Most Accountable Corporations

PITTSBURGH – (BUSINESS WIRE) – PPG (NYSE: PPG) announced today that it has been named to Newsweek’s list of America’s Most Responsible Companies for 2021. This list features the 400 most responsible companies in the US across 14 different industry sub-categories.

“Our 47,000+ employees work every day to fulfill our company’s mission to protect and beautify the world,” said Mark Cancilla, PPG vice president for environment, health and safety. “PPG’s inclusion on Newsweek America’s 2021 Most Responsible Companies list shows our progress and commitment to industry-leading environmental, social and corporate governance practices.”

Newsweek and its partner Statista ranked 2,000 of the largest publicly traded companies by revenue in the United States. The analysis included a detailed review of publicly available performance data in the environmental, social, and corporate governance categories, as well as a survey of 7,500 US citizens about their perception of corporate social responsibility.

PPG, ranked 13th in the materials category and 130th on the overall list, continues to reduce the environmental impact of its operations. Develop products that improve customer sustainability; engage with the communities for a better tomorrow; and strengthen the global workforce. In April 2020, PPG published its 2019 Sustainability Report, highlighting the company’s progress towards its sustainability goals for 2025 in key environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) areas:

  • 33% of sales achieved with sustainably beneficial products and processes;

  • 33% of the production and R&D sites reached with no process waste deposited;

  • Increase in female representation to more than 30% of the total workforce, an increase of 7% since 2014;
