HARRISBURG (KDKA) – Pennsylvania now allows users to submit jobless claims over the phone.

The Pennsylvania Teleclaims system is now active, replacing the old phone filing system as part of the system-wide upgrade that began this week.
While errors are still being worked out in the new online submission system, the managers are in the process of correcting them.

Some users state that they see some errors in their payment selection options.
“Payments will continue to be made using the correct method regardless of whether or not a direct debit appears on the screen. Individuals seeing this incorrect method listed can continue to ignore it while we resolve this issue, ”said Jennifer Berrier, acting secretary for the Department of Labor and Industry. “It doesn’t affect your payment.”

As of Thursday, more than 168,000 people had successfully applied for benefits under the new system.
